Oxford

We spent today in Oxford. Amazing buildings. I’m not an architectural photographer, but I wish I was today, as that is all I’ve been doing!

One of the first stops we made was at St. Marys. A historic church where the likes of Thomas Cranmer filled the pulpit.  We were able to climb it’s tower and capture a view of the city from the top.

Jane and I have been fans of the Lewis detective series set in Oxford. One of the buildings that is often referenced is the Bodleian library.

Holman Hunt painted this picture based on Revelation 3:20. It’s entitled “The Light of the World”. This original hangs in the Keble chapel.

I was hoping to see “Dons” with their robes walking about the college, but the only robes I saw were on this bicyclist.

  1. The pictures are amazing. I would think that many people would like copies of the painting hanging on their wall.
