Yesterday’s Chemo

My blood counts were way up yesterday, hallelujah! Thankful for healthy bone marrow that makes great numbers of neutrophil cells. The oncologist did say that he wants to give me a shot now the day after each chemo treatment to keep those cells from dropping so dramatically for so long. He’s hoping this will keep me out of the hospital and fever free. Apparently my body is very sensitive to the chemo drugs. There are nasty side affects to this medicine. Since it tells my bone marrow to kick into gear, that can cause swelling in the joints and bones resulting in pain. My oncologist said it only lasts a few days so we’ll just give you pain meds :-). Like I’ve said before, you can’t have cancer and be adverse to taking drugs.

The infusion went like clockwork and I was done in about 2 1/2 hours.

Three down……..three to go.

Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers,

jane & marc
