Timeline

For those catching up with us here is a little timeline of where we have been.

  • June. Jane has annual mammogram. Radiology asks for a return visit for an ultrasound
  • Early July, ultrasound identifies mass as not a cyst. Schedule for a needle biopsy. We are told 70% of biopsy’s come back negative.
  • We had vacation planned for about two and half weeks the middle of July, so we decided to wait until after vacation to do the biopsy.
  • July 28th perform the biopsy
  • August 1st, receive results that the biopsy is positive for cancer

We scheduled appointments for a surgeon, radiologist and medical oncologist, and began to inform our family and friends of the news. We have now met with two surgeons, and both the radiologist and oncologist.

Our first surgeon was not able to do the surgery until September 2nd. We decided we wanted to try to find another surgeon who could do it sooner. It’s currently scheduled for August 23rd.

This is where we stand right now. After the completed post-surgical biopsy, our team of doctors will plan out the chemotherapy and radiation treatments. We’ll let you know what that looks like when the time comes.

So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18

  1. When I saw your Facebook update, “Like many, many others, cancer has come to us.”, my stomach dropped. Trevor and I will be thinking of you both and your family often, and will include you in our prayers – especially this coming Tuesday. Lots and LOTS of love – Eva & Trevor.

  2. Hear my cry, O Lord;
    Attend to my prayer.
    From the end of the earth I will cry to You,
    When my heart is overwhelmed;
    Lead me to the Rock that is higher than I.

    For You have been a Shelter for me,
    A Strong Tower from the enemy.
    I will abide in Your tabernacle forever;
    I will trust in the shelter of Your wings.

    Psalm 61:1-4

    Praying God is holding you close….. love you both…… Lisa
