We’ve made it to Italy and have just been relaxing. Here are a few pictures of Amalfi. There are a number of towns on the coast one of the most famous being Amalfi. We are staying in a different town called Maiori about 15 minutes up the winding road.

Speaking of winding roads, this coast has not seen a straight stretch of asphalt that couldn’t be improved by inserting a curve. I’ve started to call this the road of a 1000 near misses. Narrow, winding, motorcycles and scooters darting in and out, every mile is an adventure. We’ve only survived because of angel grease on the sides of our Fiat Panda. Yes, we are driving a panda, God saw fit to address pride in me (marc) after we were driving the ultra cool Alfa Romeo in Greece.
It has been surprising to see the number of tourists at this time of year, I was not expecting the volume of people! I can’t imagine what it must be like at the height of the tourist season.

There is a famous cathedral in the town where they say the bones of St. Andrew are buried.

We found a set of stairs we couldn’t resist and enjoyed amazing views of the town. It was so pleasant to get away from the crowds for a little while.

This local artist was working in water colors.
