Body Scan Results

Today we discussed the results of Jane’s PET/CT scan with our oncologist. It was a full body scan from head to toe. He said the scan was clear – Yea! This type of imaging detects tumors down to about 5mm in size. When I asked him if the purpose of this scan was diagnostic or for a baseline, he said it was for a baseline. Clearly though, you check the scan for anything that might show up. He did not have a high expectation that it would show other tumors.

So Wednesday morning chemo starts. He said that the first one is more difficult, the body is not “used” to the medications. In fact, for the first infusion (that’s what they call the procedure of getting the IV drip), they do it very slowly, it should take about 3 hours for the treatment.

Our memory verse this week:

And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. (2 Corinthians 9:8)
